Sai Sudharsan in Contention for Indian test team
Gujarat Titans are currently eyeing their second IPL title, and both players have been instrumental in their journey. Gill and Sudharsan have formed an amazing opening pair for Gujarat Titans. Sudharsan has scored 638 runs, while Gill has 636—both in 13 innings.. Together, they lead the tournament’s run-scoring charts and have built record-breaking partnerships, holding the best average among all opening duos this season.
Speaking at a press conference after GT’s loss to LSG, Sai Sudharsan shared his thoughts on the India ‘A’ call-up:
"I'm aware that I'm going for the India-A game, so mentally we'll have to be switched on for IPL first. Once that story is over, then we can probably think about the India-A story. But definitely happy, happy for that opportunity, and I think I would have a great time there."
Sai Sudharsan is currently in strong contention to break into the senior India squad, along with Karun Nair, who is eyeing a comeback in national colours.
Bowling Shake-Up Likely as Shami Faces Fitness Concerns
Meanwhile, in the bowling department, recent reports suggest that Mohammed Shami is unlikely to be considered for the England tour due to fitness concerns—specifically his inability to bowl long spells. As a result, two new bowlers may find a place in the main squad. Arshdeep Singh and Anushul Kamboj are both potential candidates. Interestingly, Arshdeep was not picked in the India ‘A’ squad but is now in line to join the main team due to poteintial absence of Mohammed Shami.
