South Africa moves to the 2nd spot
A newly updated ICC Test Rankings saw South Africa move to 2nd place, overtaking England in the process. The World Test Championship winners have now overtaken one of the big contenders.
South Africa, coming into these finals, was 3rd in the ICC Rankings with 111 rating points, behind England and Australia. With this victory, South Africa earns 4 points enough to push England to third, who currently have 113 points. Meanwhile, despite losing the WTC finals, Australia stays at the top of the rankings with 123 points.

As the Test season continues, South Africa will take on Zimbabwe for 2 Tests, Australia will tour the West Indies for 3 Test matches, and England will face India in a 5-match Test series. By the end of August, there could be a massive shake-up in the ICC Test Rankings.
