Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has made a huge claim ahead of his team's two games against arch-rivals India in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 tournament. The Continental Cup will be played from September 09. India will kick off their Asia Cup campaign on September 10 against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and they will next face Pakistan in a blockbuster clash on September 14 in the group stages.

Both teams will further battle it out in the Super 4 stages on September 21, only if both teams manage to progress ahead in the eight-team tournament. Ahead of this epic rivalry, Rauf's bold claim in a video chat with a fan is going viral on social media. The eight-second clip shows a fan reminding the Pakistani pacer of the two high-octane matches against India.

Not only twice, but India can face Pakistan for the third time if both these teams reach the final, set to be played on September 28. History clearly is with Suryakumar-led led-India as they won a whopping 10 out of 13 games played against Pakistan. However, the Men in Green's last victory over their neighbors came in the Asia Cup 2022 event.

India vs Pakistan clash faces heat from the public owing to political tension

While the government has given BCCI the green signal to proceed with their match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, the public is unhappy with the decision in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which saw 26 people lose their lives. While the Indian Army responded with Operation Sindoor, a lot of experts and fans do not want India to play Pakistan again.

Recently Yuvraj Singh-led team cancelled both their matches against Pakistan in the World Champions League (WCL) 2025 season. The restriction to forfeit games does not extend to World Cup events and other multilateral tournaments. Moreover, the BCCI & PCB have also mutually agreed to play the games in a neutral venue. The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the UAE.
