Chennai Super Kings (CSK) got off to the worst possible start in pursuit of 184-run target as they lost Rachin Ravindra (3), and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (5) runs inside the power play against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing 17th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gaikwad yet again succumbed to short pitched bowling as Mitchell Starc struck in his second over.
Even Devon Conway, who replaced Rahul Tripathi in the playing XI, failed to make an impact as he was dismissed for just (13) runs. CSK lost three wickets in the power play and could not even reach 50 runs. All their batters struggled for timing, as DC bowlers Starc, Mukesh Kumar, and Vipraj Nigam managed to bowl tight lines and length.

CSK in deep trouble, as DC bowlers strangulate with disciplined bowling
With the required run rate touching 12 runs per over, CSK need a move on. Even Shivam Dube (18) could not make much of an impact as he was sent by Vipraj Nigam. It is to be noted that CSK are yet to chase a 180-plus target in IPL since 2019.

Speculations are also rife that this could potentially be MS Dhoni's last match for CSK, as his parents are here for the first time ever to watch him live from the stands. It is to be seen whether Dhoni bats higher up the order against DC, or he bats at number 9 position.
