IPL 2025: No Digvesh Rathi, but notebook celebration goes viral as LSG's Akash Singh brings it

Akash Singh IPL 2025 news

It seems whatever the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does to boycott 'The Notebook Celebration', it invariably happens. If not Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Digvesh Rathi, then some other player tries to mimic the epic Notebook Celebration. During the Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, fast bowler Akash Singh imitated Rathi's iconic Notebook Celebration after taking the wicket of Jos Buttler.

Akash immediately signaled to the LSG dressing room and signed the Notebook in an almost fitting tribute to mystery spin bowler Rathi, who has been handed a suspension for repeating the celebration after rubbing Abhishek Sharma the wrong way. It is to be noted that Rathi started the Notebook Celebration by first taking the wicket of Punjab Kings (PBKS) Priyansh Arya. Later on, the LSG spinner continued the iconic celebration in various other games when he dismissed the opposition batter.

Despite multiple fines by the BCCI, Digvesh Rathi did not budge, and he was eventually suspended for one game after his heated altercation with SRH's Abhishek Sharma.

LSG finally snap losing streak by beating Gujarat Titans

Speaking about the GT vs LSG clash, the latter dominated with bat and ball to finally snap their losing streak in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Mitchell Marsh set things up with blistering (117) runs. Later with ball in hand, Avesh Khan, Akash Deep, and Akash Singh managed to keep a powerful GT batting lineup silent for majority parts of the run chase.

With this win, LSG registered their sixth win of the IPL 2025 season. Although they are ruled out of the IPL 2025 playoff contention, LSG surely aims to finish the season on a positive note.
