Punjab Kings (PBKS) takes on the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their penultimate league game in Jaipur on Saturday, May 24. This is the only match to be played on Saturday with Punajb having an opportunity to close in on the top two.
RCB's loss to SRH has eased the process a bit for the Kings. Bengaluru has one league game remaining and can only finish on 19 points. The Kings on the other hand, with two back to back wins can finish at 21 points and hence finish in the top two.
The Kings can even finish as the top team on the IPL 2025 points table if GT lose their final game against CSK. The Titans lost their previous game against LSG and have another game remaining against MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings. Thus a lot can still happen in these last few league games with the points table seeing constant movement.

Punjab Kings won their last match against Rajasthan Royals that eliminated the Royals from the tournament. Meanwhile, DC's loss to MI in the previous game eliminated them from the tournament.
The Capitals were no match for the Mumbai Indians in their previous game. Chasing 181 runs to win, their innings completely derailed and they were bowled out for just 121 runs. The loss was a big blow to DC who played so well throughout the first half of the tournament. However, they lost momentum in the second half of the tournament and could not bounce back.
Shreyas Iyer has by far the best captain in IPL 2025 by former cricket experts. That he took the Kings to the playoffs for the first time in a decade is an achievement in itself. The side scored 219 runs against RR and the bowling side defended it decently well to win the game by 10 runs. For Punjab to win this game, a lot hinges on Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal with the side missing a few of their overseas players.
