Punjab Kings (PBKS) will battle it out with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 31 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season on April 15. Both teams have shown some inconsistency in their respective IPL 2025 campaigns. PBKS have played five games and have won three and lost two matches. KKR, who are placed fifth on the points table, have played six games and have won three and lost three games.
Consistency is one thing both PBKS and KKR would be aiming at, with the IPL 2025 entering its second half of the season. A win here for either of the sides will help them break into the first half of the points table.

PBKS vs KKR Match Preview
PBKS started their IPL 2025 campaign on a bright note by winning two away games against GT and LSG. However, the Shreyas Iyer-led side stumbled at home in Mullanpur against RR and were blown away by SRH at the Uppal stadium by Abhishek Sharma's assault. Bowling has been a major letdown in both these losses. To make things worse, Lockie Ferguson is nearly ruled out of IPL, with assistant coach James Hopes confirming the injury to the Kiwi pacer is a serious one.
Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who was bought for INR 18 crores in the auction, has looked out of sorts so far. Also, Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh have blown hot and cold in the five games that they have played. Bowling needs to come good for PBKS, as their batting is looking sorted. Skipper Shreyas Iyer has been leading from the front with 250 runs from five games. He has been well supported by Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, and Nehal Wadhera. Marcus Stoinis also got back to form in the last match against SRH.
On the other hand, KKR's batting has failed to show consistency when it matters the most. Barring skipper Ajinkya Rahane, the rest of the batters have looked a bit out of sorts. Quinton de Kock has failed to give the team the blistering starts like he used to do consistently for MI and LSG. Sunil Narine also has not fired with bat in hand all the games.

All-rounders Venkatesh Iyer and Andre Russell are yet to fully hit their straps. Bowling is also heavily dependent on Narine, Chakaravarthy, and Moeen Ali to get wickets in the middle overs. It is still not clear when Anrich Nortje will be available for KKR.
