Hayley Matthews delivered a power-packed all-around performance that helped Mumbai Indians (MI) thrash UP Warriorz by six wickets in the Women's Premier League (WPL) match at the Ekana Stadium. Matthews, who chipped in with two wickets earlier, scored (68) runs to guide MI to a thumping win. Right through the run chase of 151, the MI opener showed great composure and never allowed UPW bowlers to settle. The right-hand batter took on Ecclestone, UPW's best bowler, and made her intentions clear.
Apart from Matthews, Sciver-Burnt chipped in with (37) runs. It was the second wicket partnership between Sciver-Brunt and Matthews that powered MI to this brisk run chase. UPW, whose bowling had always found ways to come back to the contest, this time struggled to pick the main wicket of Matthews.

Henry was the pick of the bowler for UPW, picking one wicket and giving away just 28 runs. On account of this thumping loss, UPW is on the verge of not making it to the playoffs as they have lost five matches in seven played so far.
MI move second on the points table
On account of this thumping win, MI have moved to second place on the points table. They registered thier fourth win, and are looking good to make it to a thrid straight playoffs. Today's performance was a top notch one by MI, as thier bowling and batting fired in unison.
