India and New Zealand are currently playing the ICC Champions Trophy final in Dubai. Kiwi skipper Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bat first. Rohit Shama lost his 14th consecutive toss as Captain. Meanwhile, the Kiwis have reached 135/4 after the first 30 overs of their innings.
The Kiwi openers Rachin Ravindra (37 off 29) and Will Young (15 off 13) added 57 for the first wicket. Ravindra was particularly aggressive as he hit four fours and a six in his score of 37. The partnership was broken on 57 and the Kiwis reached 69/1 in their first 10 overs.
After the first 10 overs, the Indian spinners brought the team back into the game. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Ravindra for 37 to give India a massive breakthrough. Soon after dismissing the southpaw, he also dismissed Kane Williamson (11 off 14) who chipped one straight to him. The former Kiwi skipper wanted to nudge the ball but instead chipped one straight back to Kuldeep.

Kuldeep Takes Two, Varun And Jadeja One Each In Middle-Overs
Kuldeep's double breakthrough in back to back overs forced New Zealand batters to take a step backward in their innings. There was a period in their innings where they could not hit a boundary for 81 balls. Ravindra Jadeja dismissing Tom Latham (14 off 30 balls) in the 24th over further pegged back the Kiwi innings.
After the initial good run of 10 overs, it was the Indian spinners who controlled the run-scoring rate for the Kiwis and chipped in with wickets as well thus slowing down the pace of their innings.
After, 30 overs, they are yet to score 150 and they ave already lost four wickets. They have reached 135/4. Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips who are batting at the moment needs to score heavily in the final 20 overs to helped them reach somewhere close to 250 to 270.
Spin has been the way to go for the Indian bowlers and this is something that the Kiwi spinners should learn from when they defed the total they post in their batting effort. They need a big push in the final 10 overs with Michael Bracewell and skipper Santner to follow.
